Safety

Safety is our #1 priority at the Columbus Craft Beer Fest.  We have a comprehensive safety plan in place along with a great team of safety leaders to make sure the event runs smoothly and every participant is safe while at the event.
Some things to keep in mind at the Columbus Craft Beer Fest:
  • This is a 21 and over only event.  ID’s will be checked and verified
  • All bags will be checked.  No weapons of any kind are allowed into the event; no outside containers are allowed into the event; no pets are allowed into the event; no food or drink of any kind is allowed into the event.  If you want to bring water into the event, we will require that you dump your water at the gate, but we will provide you with a free bottle of water as a replacement

  • There will be no re-entry to the festival (i.e. you cannot leave and come back in).  This is for the safety and security of all involved
  • A sampling cup will be provided to event participants at the gate as they arrive.  Absolutely under no circumstance should an event participant be drinking from any other container/cup besides the one provided to them (the official beerfest cup).  Failure to follow this rule will result in the participant being escorted off the premise
  • There will be two on-site medical teams (one stationary and one mobile), a medical tent, and a dedicated ambulance on-site
  • Members from the Bartholomew County Sheriff's department will also be present

  • In the event that there is a weather threat that compromises the safety of all event participants, the event organizers will have the final say as to whether the event continues, is cancelled, or if an evacuation is necessary.  In the event of an evacuation where immediate shelter is necessary, there will be 3 designated locations for people to make their way to.  Volunteer leaders and event staff will assist guests in making their way out of the festival and to these locations.  The emergency evacuation locations are as follows:
    • Mill Race Center - 900 Lindsey Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201
    • Hotel Indigo Columbus Architectural Center - 400 Brown Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201
    • The Commons - 300 Washington Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201
    • Yes Cinema - 328 Jackson St, Columbus, IN 47201
